HINGDAI HONGKONG RESTAURANT

The ‘HINGDAI’ restaurant draws its soul from the legendary rhythm of the city’s street food culture , like those neon-lit corners, narrow alleyways, and late-night eateries where the scent of clay pot rice and milk tea lingers in the air. The concept begins with the memory of Hong Kong as a place where the streets are an extension of home, where the boundaries between interior and exterior dissolve into one continuous social atmosphere. Here, eating is not only nourishment, but a daily ritual of conversation, companionship, and familiarity.

The design celebrates this spirit by adopting the language of the city’s street-side residences and local cha chaan tengs. Soft green paneling recalls the tiled façades of old shop houses, while the repetitive frames and curved patterns evoke window grills and balcony railings that are iconic to Hong Kong’s visual identity. These forms are reinvented and bringing the memory of urban domesticity into a contemporary dining setting.
